I saw your show last nite(Monday) and I was repulsed by the two lawyers you had on. Joran’s lawyer is grasping for straws. He knows Joran is as guilty as sin. His feeble attempts to get him out of this one were pathetic. As for Joran and some of the shots of him in the car and the dialogue, really made me sick. This kid has to be a sociopath. He really had a lot of the public fooled with his slick nice boy attitude. Now everyone can see his true colors. If Aruba doesn’t prosecute this low life, what’s going to stop him from a repeat performance. I don’t believe that Natalee just died like he said. I think he overdosed her on drugs or else she resisted him and he killed her. Can you just put yourself in Beth Holloway’s shoes having to listen to what Joran said. It is so heartbreaking. She has been thru so much and I’m afraid that Aruba gov’t will be letting her down again. Isn’t there anyone over there that is honest and wants to see justice for Natalee. As for Peterson’s lawyer, his comments about time running out on the lawsuit, there could be extenuating circumstances that would be major in the case. After all, there is a criminal case coming forward. Drew probably mad a phony will drawn up by one of his cronies. I thought that Kathleen had left everything to her two sons. I always wondered how he could go in her house and take everything. What a creep. The more I hear about him the more he turns my stomach.

I wonder if the powers that took care of this Natalee situation could be Paulus van der Sloots good buddy Ben Vocking who changed his name to Ben King after the ‘PROBLEM” he had with Eduardo Alexander Antonio Matthew’s lawsuit when Ben (Vocking)King allegedly had him abused in the Aruban prison system when he was Governor of KIA Prison in Aruban in 2001 .Word is documents “disappeared” and Matthew was horribly abused,beat up,kept in solitary confinment long periods,denied medical treatment and more.Ben Vocking was replaced by Maduro as prison governor and according to records he behaved much the same.Ben (Vocking)King is supposed to be working in the prosecution office now and was supposed to have been at the Van der Sloot residence during 1st search.He also has been good friend of Paulas for years and they’ve worked together…..

I am wondering what happened to the human leg bone that was found on the shore of Venezuela about three weeks after Natalee disappeared. Ocean currents from Aruba go to Venezuela. At the time it was said that they needed to do DNA but I never heard anymore about it.

Does anone remember how Joran told Patrick..I will NEVER tell who helped me dump the body..NEVER..he seemed very strong on the topic..even saying “I don’t have to worry about him telling” because I have something “good” on him too. Then all of a sudden he named the guy…Daurie..anyways..I think he just said that name…never thinking he would have to answer to that statement, just to give a name. I really believe, if they could only pull those phone records to that pay phone that night, they would be able to find out who he called. Since I have not seen the entire tape of JVD Sloot’s confession, I may have missed this, but if the friend just dumped Natalee’s body at sea, how could they be so certain that it would not wash ashore somewhere or be found floating in the ocean? If they did not weigh it down, wouldn’t the body float at some point?

I had the misfortune in Denver of living in a condo with a Joran Van Der Sloot- type.
All the women and elderly in the building were carrying mace and other substances for protection because the police refused to help.

Joran is guilty as sin, yet he, like the man in Denver, will go free. However, Johans life is OVER. Mommy and Daddy can support him for a while, but no one will ever employ him.

Thus he will spend endless hours alone, and the need for drugs and to attack more women will surface again. Just like the guy in Denver, he WILL rape again.

It is a sad a pitiful state when countries won’t protect the decent citizens and worry about the legalities of doing an injustice to a sociopath like this.

We have not heard the last about Joran Van Der Sloot. Unfortunately, more women will have to suffer before he gets his just desserts, which “eventually” will happen.

I belive Juran (like most kids his age) would have only trusted family with an issue this serious. I believe he is guilty and I hope justice will be served. To Greta: I haven’t read this entire thread (for lack of time) but in what I have read, no one has mentioned what actually might have happened to Natalee on the beach when he said she started “shaking, like a movie”. But if she had been drinking and wasn’t used to drinking, and from what it sounds like, she might have had too much alcohol, she could have had alcohol poisoning.

The convulsions were due to alcohol poisoning, so it seems that if she didn’t vomit (and asphyxiate on it) then she was either unconscious or in a coma… probably just unconscious. Seems like ‘manslaughter’ to me. After people have a seizure, they many times remain “out of it” for awhile, in a postictal state. She could have had a seizure or “convulsions” and then have been comatose afterward. I can’t believe no one even checked her pulse or listened to her chest to see if her heart was beating.

Is is possible that Daddy is the guilty party? From what I recall, Joran’s mother was in Holland and not home, and Daddy came back from Holland that same night getting back about 5 p.m. - time enough to go to the casino, pick out his choice, and go home and wait. How long had they been in Holland? WHy did Daddy come back without his wife? Was Joran left alone during that time, if so they didn’t care what he was doing or if he stayed out all night, he didn’t have to sneak out.
It just might have been that Natalee died at the Van der Sloot residence and that is why Daddy is sweating, and Joran isn’t. Then they took her body to the beach, loaded her in the boat and took her out to sea. Early on it was reported that Joran got a phone call from another island about 6 a.m. and they said it was from Steve Croes. It is obvious he is protecting his father, and that is the person he has “something on.”

Who Cares anymore? When this case was new you had it on so much it was intolerable. You can beat a dead horse until it is hamburger. Just look back at your shows and see how you went over the same thing, the same issues, the same speculation over and over and over and over again. You have given all of these people notariety. This girl has been dead since the beginning. It is sad for her family and for such a young life to end but why was she out in a bar all night drunk at of her mind and leaving with any stranger or strangers who asked her? Where were the chaperones letting these young people out all night? Why wasn’t she taught not to get drunk and leave with strangers. Why is she so special? I believe Joran is guilty, even though not all of what he said was true. The way the whole story just spewed out of him without any “ah’s, or umm’s ” or stalling. It came out naturally, with natural emotion, albeit surprising emotion. If you look at interviews of him he stalls, talks without emotion, says “Umm” alot. I think the taped admission was like a cleansing to him. And he threw in the half truths because he is not completely honest as a person. He is still hiding alot of the truth. But the main idea of what happened to Natalee came out. I also believe his father was his accomplice in disposing of her body. I am inclined to believe there was a rape possibly involving the Kalpoe brothers and date rape drugs. Someone mentioned three condoms being found in the area of the event in question. I hadn’t heard that before. Anyway, they will have to live with this until they meet their Maker. And Natalee is certainly in a much better place if, even if it is about sixty or seventy years too early for her!

reguarding the Halloway case… Joran lawyer came on saying that Daury wasn’t even in Aruba at the time of Natalie’s disapearance and that the pay phone Joran used was only for International calling. Well there ya go. Joran called Internationally to Daury and Daury in turn made his phone calls to his people to help Joran out in Aruba. Has anyone checked out outgoing phone records from this pay phone? Or incoming calls to Daury?????

My comment is enough is enough. arrest him, charge him, let the chips fall where they may. Does Holland or aruba have just one prosecutor who is intelligent enough to put together this case. This has been a circus from day one. A mother weeps,a child is gone forever and all the players play there games. Arrest all who they think may or may not have played a roll, and then charge them all and go to trial. Once they are all standing in front of a judge you will see how fast they give up one another on how her body was disposed of. I think her body was driven to the painted rock area and left there while sonny was taken home and then someone came back and threw Natalee in the shark feeding area from the cliff.

We have to remember that the punishments under Dutch law are completely different than in the USA. Years ago we had a famous kidnapp-murder case. The brother of the biggest grossery stores in Holland (later this company bought Albertson, USA) Albert Heyn. His brother Gerrit-Jan Heyn was kidnapped, cut of his pink (in a letter it was stated so he couldn’t play the piano) and later died (later we find out he was already dead when the pink was cut off). The murderer who was on his own (did it because he was fired from the company) got life in prison, that means 21 years in Holland. For good behaviour they take of 1/3 so after 13 years he was back home. Meanwhile in prison he studied law (paid by us tax payers) and got still money every month from the state (unbelievable).

In an other case there was on Peter R. de Vries a man who was friends with the Heineken kidnappers and a criminal himself, when I watched I recognized hime being a man who everyday brought his cute kids to the same school as my kids attended. It seems the man thought he was safe and not to be found i an upscale neighborhood as ours. WE were in shock, specially since a lot of criminals are killing each other during day time. So the next day I was making sure I was far away from this man to be safe in case something happened. I had seem him before and he was always pretty private, not talking much to others. He was better looking than the avarege man that is why I had noticed him before. To my surprise and big shock the day after broadcasting a big group of people were surrounding him and acting like he was the next idol…..

I’m writing this because I’m affraid that crazy people will surround Joran to get their 15 min. of fame and treat him like an idol and Joran will turn worse and get more involved in the criminal scene. I think the parents should have to pay for all the investigation and searches… I think they should have to pay restitution to Natalees family and pay for their expenses to and from Aruba - and their hotel stays…. I know it’s unrealstic to think this is something that could happen…. but to me the parents are even more responsible if they knew what he had done and if they helped him in any way. I have always suspected the father’s involvement… from the time he had told Joran NOT to talk. He made some comment that was made public telling his son not to talk because they wouldn’t have a case without a body. Well of course, he knew they were never going to find a body. He made sure of it.

After Greta’s interview with Joran, I emailed that I thought she had been “duped” by this young con man, giving him a worldwide forum for his lies. Greta was receptive, polite, and said she pretty much believed him. This strengthened his credibility, whether she admitted it, or not. He played her like a fiddle. Now that he is revealed for the lying scum he is, Greta is trying to develop the “two personality” theory to save her own face.

I forgot to add one thing. Jorans shoes. I do not know a whole bunch about the drainage system there. However, I do know they get very very little rain. Can’t Mike Rowe from diry jobs go down there and see if they are laying in the drain? The island is not that big so there can not be that many routes from the beach to Jorans house. I am guessing the shoes are still down there unless there are run offs from some major source ie draining the pools at one of the hotels or something. Even then, where does the stuff end up? Is it cleaned an sanitized and reused? Where is all the stuff that they clean out of the water? Probablly in some dump at this point. Gretta, you need to send a forensics team to Aruba and check out some of this stuff much like you sent Furman to track Lorean in Mexico. This case can not be unsolvable. Mark’s expertise at this point seems to be unsolved cases. He solved the Martha Moxel case and sent a Kennedy to jail after all.

One final thing. Since the case has been closed as of December is the case information public knowledge like in the US? I am not certain if the case was reopened or not but you might try and get copies of the police reports if the case is closed and they have this public information law.

Where do I begin. Why have the police not gone to where he claims her body laid while he was calling his “friend” to come help him? Why have they not finger printed the pay phone? I honey mooned there 8 years ago and can tell you the torists are not using the pay phone…thus not as many prints as you may think.

Another thing…Did the police search the Marriott construction site? Yes, I said construction site. Since our honeymoon, they have built another timeshare building called the Surf Club. Part of it was under construction when Natalee went missing.

Still another. The island is not safe. We stayed in the Ocean Club (Marriott) which would have been right next to the Holiday Inn when we were there. Our room was broken in to WHILE WE WERE ATTEMPTING TO SLEEP at about 3:00 in the morning. Thankfully security overted it but we did get a call from the front desk saying some is breaking in. We called back the front desk to see if it was true or someone trying to get us to come open our door. It was true and security came to talk to us. We think it was an inside job with housekeeping opening one of the sliding doors when she cleaned. We had both doors locked. Even 8 years ago the island was not completely safe as they said. At that time they told us the beach was not safe to walk on at night. Food for thought.

Gretta: You said that he basically freed the Calpo brothers. However, the ABC brodcast of the interviews showed his “friend” Dangy or what ever the name. Dangy, while he could be lying said he does not own a boat. I believe him only because that fact would be easy to verify. Also, the ABC piece stated that Joran had not spoke to Dangy since he was about 15 years old and that Joran texted the kid to say he was sorry in December. Any chance Joran lied to throw off people that may still wish to implicate them? You know he does not lie so I know it is a stretch..RIGHT

I think that pieces of what he said are true with bits of lies to throw off anyone who wanted to solve the case ie Patrick. Joran is not dumb and he is never going to completely tell the truth so he can be caught.

One last thing. Any chance if the body was dumped about 2 miles out that she could still be there? Did equisearch search that particular area in front of the Marriott? The water is extremely calm on shore and maybe you have to go quite a ways before it really gets rough.

i thought greta was waiting for more evidence. besides, you catch more flies with honey that vinegar. i wouldn’t want to attack a 17 yr old on camera. shes an attorney with a lot of experience in her professional. i did not agree with it but i understood it. we however are safe in our homes and can indulge ourselves. everyone also had rushed to judgement. so she probably just played devils advocate.

There are facts in this case. First, the night guard was arrested because Joran lied. Why did he make up that first lie? Most likely because he was covering his tracks. If it hadn’t been for Natalee Holloway’s parents it all would have ended there. Was her body put in a fish trap? We know the shed was broken into and one trap was missing along with a knife. We know Joran somehow lost his shoes. He said he called one of Kopow brothers from a phone at a fast food place.
In the very first days someone found 3 condoms, all in the same spot on the beach and called the police. Was DNA done? No. This is a murder and all three are guilty. Enters Dad with knowledge of the law. Now the guy and the party boat. Beings it’s a party boat it had life boats. The theft of the cage and a knife and a witness who saw a car there at the shed, that night. The facts are there but in Aruba, nothing was followed up on. Daddy had pull. Key Stone Cops? Looks like it. Daddy said it from the beginning, no body, no case. Joran is drunk on the idea that he got away with it but like any true sociopath, he needs to brag about it. However there is no concrete proof. A litany of lies and the Key Stone Cops. Poor Natalee, she trusted. Her parents will carry this pain to their deaths.
We live in a drug culture and sad to say, women can’t trust any unknown person.

i remember that the police questioned someone who went out on a party boat that night. im pretty sure it was jorans cousin. i remember the guy was stockier and darker complected than joran and thinking they did not look related.

In watching the tape of Jorah and his slight hestation before answering who did he call to get rid of Natalie’s body. I believe he may have called his Dad. Dear old Dad with all his connections. Joran just gave the other boy’s name because maybe he remembered the guy was not on the island at the time. He’s been smarter than all the people on the island so far. But he is not smarter than God, regardless of what he might think. I wonder if dear old Dad and Mom are starting to see the monster they have created. i dont care what you say about date rape in high school and college. the victims are just girls and dont see it coming. this is not natalees fault. if 40 yr old prostitutes can be fooled, then what do you expect from these young kids. males get attacted too. you cant stop it but you can try and make them pay for it. if a predator wants you he will get you if circumstances favorable for him to do it. natalee was not his prime target. and this was a 17 year old from a good ? family. i guess even a rapist has to start sometime. if he had been in holland during natalees trip she would be alive. so dutch girls would have been in danger instead of her. blame the perp.

Listening to the undercover story unfold tonight, I wondered whether Natalie had been given MDMA (esctacy) at some point after Joran ate jello shots off of her stomach. That would account for the convulsion. That would account for her behavior before the convulsion, and for her death. If Joran called the person who gave him the X to find out what to do, a dealer would know that she would likely die. He may also know that with the rise in body temperature and effects to the processing organs, even after death, authorities would be sure to find out about the X, unless the body was not found. Unlike GHB, the evidence remains. I know all of this is speculatory, but I really believe there’s more to the story. If the Aruba authorities pursue Joran’s arrest, I hope they investigate his previous drug habits. Someone knows. One more thing… Holland is the single largest exporter of esctacy in the world. He culd maybe make up some aspects of the specifics of the story he gave, lied to change his accomplices name, etc…but you dont make up that emotion, that hatred, that sense of entitlement. These were his true feelings coming to the surface about the event that happened that night.

I too was watching 20/20 earlier this evening and recalled that there was a guy who worked on a boat and he was detained and questioned…and after release he mentioned that his boss fired him for taking the boat out or someone taking the boat out that night. I distinctly remember this from your show and this was during the first round of arrests. I wondered how this guy became involved and could never pull it together based on what was reveled to the public.

I can’t believe that Joe T. actually believes any of the things he is saying to defend Joran. How does he sleep at night or look at himself in the mirror knowing that he is defending this egotistical guy who has such little regard for other human beings. Early on in Natalee’s case you showed footage of one of JV friends who had a boat - - the guy had dark hair, average to stocky build (if I remember right). The footage showed this guy walking up a dock after tying up his boat (again, if I remember right - - it’s a little foggy). I ALWAYS THOUGHT THIS GUY HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH NATALEE’S DISAPPEARENCE!! Didn’t JV meet this friend of his in the middle of the night or something, the night Natalee disappeared??

Why would this guy be out in a boat in the middle of the night, if not to dump a body overboard?????????

I always knew something wasn’t right about the guy who showed up with his boat the night Natalee disappeared!!!

It is murder to cast an unconscious person adrift in the ocean. There is evidence that Joran is responsible for having Natalee Holloway cast adrift. There is no proof that Natalee Holloway was dead when she was cast adrift in the ocean. Certainly Joran is not competent to declare someone dead. Further, he callously admitted he did not know if she were dead or not.

For all anyone knows, after being dumped overboard Natalee could have regained consciousness and then suffered alone for hours before succumbing to the sea.

That argument could be made for a charge of murder.

At the very least, an argument could be made for attempted murder; Joran’s admitted that he believed that Natalee might be alive and in a coma, still Joran decided to have her cast adrift in the sea. Why dump a possibly only unconscious person overboard? To cover up the crimes of drugging and rapping her.

Why does Joran’s lawyer speak to you? I understand why you want to speak to him, but he has no reason to speak to you. I guess part of the job is to defend him in the court of public/media opinion. I think we know Joran told the truth to the camera, I think about the only thing he missed was the part about him drugging her before taking her to the beach. Too bad that wasn’t part of the confession.
