Has the judge pre-judged this case?

After watching Geraldo’s interview with Tom Riccio, it has been buzzing around in my head that I saw him give an interview sometime Friday stating that “No guns” we used. I finally found the article. Sounds like an exciting show Greta with lots of new information. With the new charges they have filed it says it’’s up to 11 Felony charges including kidnapping will he still get bail. He now stands to get life in prison. Not looking good and will this change his bail? I mean with all these charges does he now get no bail? Oh well, thanks as always for being on top of the very best breaking news.

Can”t wait for your show. I think they are going overboad on the charges with OJ. We may not agree with the verdict in the murder trial but it should have nothing to do with this case. It seems they are going to stick it to him now because of the murders. If I was on a jury it would make a difference to me that all these people knew each other. Not the same if someone goes into a strangers house. I know the tapes said nobody could leave but not what I think of as a kidnappiing. They are overcharging.

This Ruccio Charcter who is now being accused of setting up O.J. is also the same dirty bag that attempt to sell Anna Nicole video to the media. Word also has it on the streets, that he has been a snitch for several law enforcment agencies in the past.

I agree completely Dianne. Too many charges. I am sure some will be dropped but they are making a mockey of the justice system now like they said OJ did. What next? Hope that guy with the heart attack don’t die because he’ll be charged with murder and with wrongful death in another civil suit. What a mess but Greta should give us a big interesting show tonight. Just so you know Riccio was given immunity today by the Las Vegas police so guess he is a snitch.

It’s not surprising that OJ’s associates are sleazy.

OJ was terrifying during that tape, especially when considering his past. He wouldn’t let them leave and they were told to back against the wall. They tried to leave and he wouldn’t let them. OJ is dangerous and detained these guys under grave threat. Throw the book at him.

This was all a setup, for money. I’m a white middle-aged grandma who has always thought OJ was innocent of the murder charges. What this fiasco has shown me is what disgusting people the Goldmans are.

I think it would be really cool if you could act out on your show what went on in the hotel room using the tape as a reference. I have listened to it several times and am still not sure who is saying what. By being able to slow down the tape you should be able to act it out. I think we could all get a better understanding of what happened in there. Be the first to do this.

I realize it wouldn’t be a 100% acurate but I think you could get a reasonable idea.

I was irritated tonight when Michael called Jim “Jimmy”. That was an immature response. Sounds like my high school kids after a gotcha!

Hmmm…so 2 of the thugs were provided by Ricchio..which 2, the 2 with guns?..So he let them in with a key? So how is it a breakin? And this guy is the one who set it up for OJ to try to reclaim his possessions and then recorded it and sold the tape for major bucks? And now he has immunity?…I think Vegas police issued that immunity way to early before all the facts were out…Was it the 2 guys he had with him that stirred everything into what it was escalating to inside the room? As for the victims, would a guy who had a gun in his face be bargaining for his Montana football and his cell phone? How scared was he actually? I wouldn’t be bargaining for anything but my life…No lover of O.J. but this stinks to high heaven!!!

Great show, very interesting tonight! OJ’s Vegas attorney wasn’t very impressive, the bail bondsman seemed more “with it”! Was suprised by the interview with Mr. Darden, he seemed a little cold toward you…. or maybe it was just the subject matter.

The show was great! I sooooo hope he doesn’t get bail. With those off shore accounts you know he will flee - that is unless they collect his passport.

Sorry, Jillian, but the legal definition of kidnapping can include the blocking of the exit of a person, it depends on how the state’s law is written.
Great job tonight, Greta. Loved seeing Chris Darden again. Your interview with one of the concerned attorneys in the case was very unusual. I had questions about his openness, also. I appreciate your answering my questions regarding bail and the custody of the memorabilia in question. So many aspects, so little time…….

Just read that Britney has been ordered by the Judge to have random drug tests and parental “coaching” which will include observations of her parenting skills—-or lack thereof. Seems like his honor is being thorough and cautious. Britney’s tests have just begun. But what about K Fed?

This news coverage of OJ Simpson is so desperate. Hopefully anyone with an ounce of legal knowledge already knows this is a bunch of crap. It has setup written all over it. Nothing that has come out of the mouth of these so called witnesses is creditiable. The pitiful Goldmans and Browns are so pitiful for letting OJ sent them straight to hell for controlling their life and be in their hearts all these years with such hatred. Why have you let him control your life. I know OJ was setup because they still want him to pay for the double murders he was charged for all those years ago. I don’t particulary like OJ myself but even I can see this is a setup and as a juror I would never find him guilty. Get on with your life, your loved ones will not be back, ever. I’m glad the judge ordered drug testing for Britney. I just wish he would have ordered Kevin Federline to submit to the same. I saw a video where his ex says that he likes to smoke pot. Their kids deserve to have two drug free parents.

Greta, since you are a lawyer could you please find out if the defendants in the civil suit reinsituted the judgment they received from the court. As I found out in a case I was the defendant in, unless you are served to reappear to reinstitute the judgment and you get a chance to again testify against the judgment, it is automatically dismissed and you are off the hook. This happened to me and I never had to pay another dime. Strangely I have not heard of O.J. going back to court after 10 years but I may have missed it , but to me it would seem it would be reported. Greta, could you find out? It would be something if the lawyers overlooked this like they did with me.

Well I need to brush up on my reading skills for sure. I thought we were going to find out who was bailing OJ out not who the bondsman was. I was disappointed. The lawyer of OJ’s was smiling because that was a signal to Greta that he couldn’t answer the questions she was asking. I don’t think he revealed much to be honest so he didn’t violate anything. The other lawyer looks like he lives in a dream world. I agree with Greta that if his clients account of the story is true that Riccio showed up with the guys in the suits who had the guns not OJ. But you see Riccio has immunity. I hope you caught O’Reilly interview with Harvey Levin of TMZ Mr. Riccio’s good buddy. Even O’Reilly says OJ was set up. Chris Darden added zero and Kudos to Kato for saying basically OJ was setup. I’m glad I didn’t have to see a Goldman on this show that was a big plus even though we had to see his attorney. Too bad Greta didn’t have OJ’s civil attorney on too he appeared with the Goldman’s attorney earlier and said to his face he lost all in court today. The civil attorney said this was OJ’s stuff that he was allowed to keep not anything belonging to the Goldman’s. Except for a rolex watch which they get at some point. And Jillian I agree they are tossing everything out there hoping something sticks for sure. I hope the immunity deal for Riccio is contingent upon him telling the truth. Because he looks shady to me.

I think Goldman is a bit odd [but not that much different than most of us; who are we to talk and label].

I am so glad he has stayed on OJ’s ass like stink on sheet.

He suffered the loss of a child, where the killer got to go free. IMHO that’s more grief and frustration than most people would ever have to handle and expect to endure. Clearly his way of handling the enormous daily grief and give his life purpose is to keep on the offensive against OJ.

I commend him for not letting OJ off the hook. OJ thought he outsmarted everyone by moving to FL and hiding his money.

The more miserable he makes OJ’s life, all the better.

And Goldman is not doing it for the money. Hounding OJ through the murderer’s wallet is the only way he can get to him, by seizing his money. You can bet that OJ is tired of always looking over his shoulder to see if Goldman is there. :)

For all of you thinking OJ was setup, how naive can you be.

It is clear from all the pre-planning, actual entry into the room, and the robbery that this was all OJ’s idea.

OJ was the one who had the motive [to get "his stuff"]. He and his posse were not there to get someone else’s stuff.

He was the one calling the shots and giving orders to everyone in that room. All the people in that room have said that it was OJ’s idea. In other words, no one in that room was there for anything except that OJ asked [and for some, insisted] them to come along.

How is that setting someone up?

It’s just like the Vick case. Vick initially tried to say that the dog fighting operation was everyone else’s fault and that he had no knowledge of anything. When his posse turned on him, he had to plead guilty. A posse, by the way, that was just as creepy as Vick was.

Yes, the cast of characters in this current OJ case are anything but pillars of the community. But what does that matter. It was OJ’s conspiracy. He was the ringleader.

Richard, what you are asking about is a judgment being “renewed.”

Filing an application to renew a judgment is as simple as filing a form. And there are few defenses to opposing the renewal application.

Simply filing the form automatically renews the judgment for a period of 10 years from the date the application to renew is filed. In OJ’s case, 10 years from entry of the original judgment would be sometime this year or next. A renewal would carry enforcement to 2017.

I would be very surprised if Goldman’s attorney [or Goldman] missed the judgment renewal filing deadline, if it has come and gone [assuming the judgment was entered in 1997]. Only the most incompetent attorney would 1) not know that a judgment can only be enforced for 10 years; 2) that renewing a judgment is as simple as filing a form; and 3) miss the deadline, especially if the lawyer has been attempting to collect on the judgment in the year that the 10-year enforcement period expires.

I suspect that if the judgment was renewed in OJ’s case, such was not a newsworthy event.

Richard…. in the suit to obtain the rights to “If I Did It” the lawyers allege in the Complaint:

“The Judgment has been renewed. A copy of the Application for Renewal is attached hereto and marked as ‘Exhibit C.’”

The Application for Renewal was filed on September 21, 2006.

So there you have it.

OJ set up? More like his set up backfired.

OJ was conducting a “sting” with Riccio and was settng up Fromong and Beardsley. Riccio wasn’t taking any chances and stung OJ back by taping everything for whatever reason–self-protection, money, etc. As an ex-con, he has to be careful. Riccio told OJ the truth - the goods were there. No one made OJ become a raging maniac when he walked through the door.

The taping is an aside. OJ went in with a posse he acquired, threatening and holding the men hostage until they handed over the goods. He sounded dangerous. Listen to the tape again. That easily could have become a murder scene.

Of course OJ’s friends are not above board (what would one expect)– that doesn’t mean he is innocent. I think he has tax evasion and money laundering worries as well.

“Jack”——Greta did show both sides and all the channels are showing re-runs of the trial highlights, which most people want to see. There were guns used, it was a robbery, the victims were not allowed to leave, and OJ was crazed. If you really believe Nicole and Ron’s killer is still out there, you should up your meds. Two seconds after you said Greta wasn’t presenting both sides, “namvet” said she was angry that Greta was defending OJ.

Anyway, I know most everyone hates OJ and thinks he is a low down thug and murderer but, gosh lets not be over zealous here. Something is a little strange about the whole situation. What if he really was set up? Despite the fact that he should be doing jail time for the murders he is entitled to a fair trial.

Maureen L.I. is entirely correct. All I can say is, thank God it’s Nevada and not California. I anticipate that the court proceedings in Nevada will not be as nonsensical as they were in California. Nevada doesn’t put up with people coming from out of state to commit crimes in their casinos, especially armed robbery. For OJ, what goes around is about to come around.
